The term Strap-on or strapon generally refers to a harness that sits in the pelvic region
and holds a dildo securely in place.

There are many variations on this type of harness, such as strap-ons that attach dildos to furniture, balls, doors and beds etc.
It is used by one partner to penetrate another partner vaginally, anally or orally and
is used by both heterosexualand homosexual couples.
For a woman, a strap-on can be used to anally penetrate a man, for vaginal or anal lesbian
intercourse, or for artificial fellatio.
The major part of a strap-on is the harness that connects the dildo to the wearer's body,
preferably in a position similar to that of a male's genitals.

Strap-ons are usually supplied with a dildo attached, this is very limiting for obvious
reasons and the more acceptable way these days is to buy a strap-on with a
removable dildo, therefore accommodating a variety of shapes.
